Mindfulness and Therapy for Anxious Millennial Non-Conformists
Hi, I’m Carina (she/her)! I’m an experienced yet very imperfectly human Mindfulness Teacher and Accredited Senior Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, and I get that your brain won’t shut up and that being a human when all this * gestures around * is happening is hard.
If you’ve had it and you want to ditch the ever-present sense of urgency, daily grind, and hustle culture for a slower, more intentional life that’s aligned with what really matters (without the guilt trip!), I’m your girl.
My jam is evidence-based Mindfulness and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, made simple, enjoyable, and actually practical for real life.
I’m a fellow overthinker!
My messy mind pretty much drove me to become a Mindfulness Teacher and CBT Therapist. But when I'm not a millennial manager™ in the NHS or supervising at university, I'm probably still overthinking my own life choices. The difference is that I now know this is what minds do, so I don’t get as stuck anymore, and can even be kinder to myself on good days.
That’s because after getting stuck and feeling purposeless in the rat race of life, I stumbled onto something that actually worked: Mindfulness and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Game changers!
Now I'm sharing these with other worriers and catastrophisers through courses and sessions that are actually digestible. Because, really - we're living uncertain enough times without adding confusing therapy language and airy-fairy concepts to the mix.
Find your chill and start living life on your own (quirky, if you like) terms. No more FOMO, just JOMO (Joy Of Missing Out).
Let’s help you find your way back to what really matters (or figure out what that is!), between constant notifications and everyone’s expectations of where you should be at (including yours) - through science-backed mindfulness and therapy.
Honestly, life's too short for constant productivity panic attacks, and your overthinking brain deserves a break and some perspective (and maybe a snack?).
Mindfulness
For everyone who's ever thought 'meditation isn't for me’.
Courses
This is not about that 'empty your mind' nonsense, but much more about 'bloody hell, I actually enjoyed my hot drink without checking emails.'
Find pockets of peace and moments of clarity in your chaotic day through evidence-based courses - for people who think they're 'bad at meditation.' Spoiler: you're not.
One-to-One Support
For this, I’ll be a bit like a personal trainer for your mind, but maybe a bit gentler and in comfy sweats rather than tight exercise clothes.
We'll figure out what you need to know and how mindfulness fits into your life, so you can catch your breath between ‘following up’ at work, ‘getting a date in the diary’ with friends, and ‘doing things differently’ this year.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Finally make friends with your mind.
Imagine understanding your mind instead of being hijacked by it (thoughts doing sprints while you’re trying to sleep, anyone?). With ACT, we’ll help you work with your mind, not against it - so you can stop fighting with your thoughts, navigate your internal drama, and start living according to your values and terms. Consider it if you’re a recovering overthinker, professional worrier, and more!
Bespoke Workshops for Enterprises
Because your team deserves more than just another 'wellbeing initiative'.
I worked in a start-up, moved to California for 3 months to take part in a very reputable start-up accelerator, lived with my colleagues, and worked 6 days/week. I’ve also worked in under-funded and over-pressured national mental health services for years.
I know about the pressures of fast-paced work, deadlines, targets, KPIs, and burnout. I also know that stressed employees can’t adult (let alone work).
I can develop custom workshops that blend neuroscience, mindfulness, and just enough humor to keep everyone awake. Warning: may result in reduced coffee consumption and fewer passive-aggressive emails.
Clinical Supervision for CBT Therapists
I’m accredited by the BABCP (British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies) as a CBT Clinical Supervisor, I supervise on one of London’s biggest and most reputable CBT courses and in my other job as Senior CBT Therapist too. I also don’t take myself too seriously.
So, whether you’re training, newly qualified, or been around the block for a while, I’m here to help you continue to develop your CBT skills, general clinical skills, but also think about process issues and who you are as a therapist - all while we’re sipping some tea and I’m wrestling my dog away from the keyboard.
